Hypothesis 1: When I was young, I used to think ‘grit’ was everything. You could bruteforce everything. Work 24/7.
My rationale was:
If output = mx + b, where m is your output per hour, x is the # of hours, and b is just your natural intelligence, I could just put more hours.
But the reality is:
1.
People tend to put in hours to what naturally comes to them.
2.
People who are naturally gifted, tend to have a higher output per hour
This meant, if I was retarded, the reality was no ‘grit’ could help me compete against people who were naturally more intelligent than me.
